Grange Growth Summit
PA Grangers will be attending the Grange Growth Summit presented by National Grange in Wytheville, Virginia Friday through Sunday, September 11-13, 2009. Betsy Huber, Carl Meiss, Marty Dinsmore, Lorena Baughman and Charlene Espenshade will be spending the weekend in Virginia learning about Opening New Granges and Re-organizing Granges.

GGS started at 6:00 p.m. Friday evening in Wytheville, VA. About 35 people total. 4 of us from PA so far. Good start. Looking forward to working with teams tomorrow at various Granges in area. Helping re-vitalize two and working to start one new Grange in VA.
ReplyDeleteSaturday was a good day for GGS in Wytheville, Va. Carl, Betsy, Lorena and Marty all participated with teams attempting to help two Granges re-vitalize and to try to open a new Grange in the Wytheville area. Carl's team had a very successful day signing up 3 new members at Goodwill Grange with 6 more potential members. Betsy and Marty's team worked at Cox Chapel Grange and had 3 potential new members there. Unfortunately, Lorena's team only had 1 potential new member show up for the new Grange in the Wytheville area, but they learned a lot about opening, reorganizing and re-juvinating Granges. GGS finishes up sunday.
ReplyDeleteGGS09 wrapped up Sunday after a good live workshop on TeamSpeak for all attendees. PA's 4 attendees, Betsy, Carl, Marty & Lorena all came away with enthusiasm and new ideas. PA will host a GGS in 2010. More specific information (dates, times, location, etc.) TBA.
